We're delighted to announce that on September 1st 2017 we launched our high quality, nationally recognised qualifications in Sport, Increasing Participation, Working with People with Disabilities, and Stewarding – at Levels 1, 2 and 3. These fantastic new qualifications are aimed at equipping learners with the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to keep themselves and others fit, active and healthy.
Delivered as part of the apprenticeship framework (L2 & L3 Increasing Participation), and funded through the ESFA and advanced learner loans (L3), these qualifications offer learners the perfect balance of practical and theory, whilst also offering a clear progression to employment (apprenticeship) or further study.
YMCA Awards believes that physical activity and sport have a crucial role to play in helping the UK tackle issues of inactivity. According to the latest figures almost one third of UK adults fail to meet the minimum level of activity; whilst almost 1 in 5 children are classified as obese by the time they leave primary school.
