Leading awarding organisation YMCA Awards will be sponsoring the Association of College Sport (AOC Sport) Fitness Trainer Competition for Gym Instructors in 2016. YMCA Awards originally set up the Fitness Trainer Competition to showcase high standards of Fitness Instructors & Personal Trainers in the UK, before the reins were handed over to AOC Sport.

The competition has grown in stature, successfully revealing a wealth of talent within the sector. The competition has gone from strength to strength, and for the first time the 2016 final will now be included in the World Skills UK Competition Finals during The Skills Show, which is held annually at the NEC, Birmingham.

Director of YMCA Awards, Rob May commented:

“This feels like a homecoming for us, as the original founder of this competition, and underscores our commitment to our core principles of recognising talent and awarding excellence. We’re also very proud and excited to be working with AOC Sport again, who have done a great job in raising the profile of the competition.”

Managing Director of AOC Sport, Marcus Kingwell said:

“We are delighted to have the support of YMCA Awards for the Fitness Trainer Competition 2016. Their support will help us develop the competition experience for our FE students which, along with their qualification, will mean they are best prepared for industry”.
