Intended for those who internally quality assure assessors and assessment, but who do not manage the centre or other internal quality assurers. Within this two-unit qualification, taught through a mix of eLearning and one-day face-to-face training, learners will develop an understanding of the principles and requirements for internally maintaining the quality and integrity of the assessment process and implement these principles within a real working context.

Accreditation

The qualification is externally accredited by Edexcel.

Certification

Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

Entry requirements

Learners must be aged 19 and above to access this course. Learners must be qualified and technically competent in the specific discipline they wish to IQA. Learners must have access to at least two assessors, each with a minimum of two candidates, in order to gather assessment evidence. Prior completion of the Assessor qualification is also strongly recommended.

Fees and resources

Internal Quality Assurer Silver: £500 per learner
Course fee includes registration, face-to-face delivery, certification, assessment support and full access to the Internal Quality Assurer eLearning resource.

Internal Quality Assurer Silver customised course option: £450 per learner*
*Based on a minimum of six learners. Further reductions may be available for larger groups. Centres may also be required to pay for tutor expenses (where applicable). Please contact YMCA Awards on 020 7343 1800 for more information.

Fees for direct observation
Submission of performance based video evidence is required for Unit 5. Where you are unable to provide video evidence, a YMCA Awards Professional Development approved assessor may perform a direct observation for an additional fee.

Progression routes
Once completed learners can progress onto complete the final unit of the Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice:-
  • Unit 8: Plan, Allocate and Monitor Work in Own Area of Responsibility

Learners can book onto Unit 8 for an additional fee of £350 per learner.

Having completed all three units learners will be awarded a Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice and will be eligible to practice as a fully qualified internal quality assurer and lead a team of internal quality assurers.
